  • Penny Teresa Milam, 55, of Glen Rose passed away May 31, 2016.  Penny was born May 2, 1961 to AJ and Madonna Harvey. She was a member of Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church.  Penny enjoyed collecting coca cola memorabilia.  Penny loved her family very much. She also loved spending her time outdoors especially with her grandchildren and going camping.

    Penny is preceded in death by her parents.

    Penny is survived by her husband, Joe Milam of Glen Rose; her son, Jody (Amy) Milam of Glen Rose ; her daughter, Brandy Simpson of Glen Rose: her brother AJ Harvey Jr. , her sisters, Lisa Shelnut, Tina Northrip, Toni Cordell and 5 grandchildren.

    Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 3, 2016 at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Todd Bray officiating. Interment will be at Fairplay Cemetery in Benton. Pallbearers will be Lee Lucy, Billy Joe Stevens, Dillan Stevens, Dakota Lucy, Jason Smoke and Jake Stevens.

    God looked around his Garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain. And knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes, He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly. When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain, We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again. You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide, You live on through your children, you're always by our side. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home So go and run free with the angels Dance around the golden clouds For the lord has chosen you to be with him And we should feel nothing but proud Although he has taken you from us And our pain a lifetime will last Your memory will never escape us But make us glad for the time we did have Your face will always be hidden Deep inside our hearts Each precious moment you gave us Shall never, ever depart So go and run free with the angels As they sing so tenderly And please be sure to tell them To take good care of you for me Love you Aunt Pen Pen
